‘Autumn Memories’ to compete at Portugal fest

Portugal fest to host 3-nation joint production ‘Autumn Memories’

Jointly produced by Iran, Ukraine and the Czech Republic, ‘Autumn Memories’ has been scheduled to compete at the 2017 Lisbon International Film Festival in Portugal.

Directed by Iranian filmmaker Ali Fakhr Mousavi, the flick is an anti-war love story which depicts the life of a girl whose home and family have been attacked by terrorist groups. As a person who has experienced displacement, blindness and loss of speech, she can ultimately find peace and love in another corner of the world with people who are themselves affected by war.

The film's shooting began in October 2015 in Ukraine and it was entirely made outside of Iran.

The cast list includes Nazanin Ahmady Shahpour Abadi from Iran, and Galyna Karpin, Aleksandr Ignatusha, Oleksa Kravchuk, Olga I. Voytanovich, Dmytro Linartovych, Nazar Regush, and Oleksandr Vakulyuk from either Ukraine or the Czech Republic.

This is the ninth international screening of the feature film, which has so far vied at the Torino Film Festival in Italy, Lake View Film Festival in Punjab, India, and Rivne International Film Festival ‘Dream City’ 2016 in Ukraine, among others. 'Autumn Memories' recently won the Best Feature Film Award at Kolkata film festival in India.

Lisbon Film Festival is a quarterly online film festival that showcases innovative independent works from around the world by up-and-coming artists.

The 2017 fall edition of Lisbon International Film Festival will kick off on December 23.
